Log/Pic 80 Maine for Moose

So this month it was a trip to Maine to scout for moose.
But first a trip to Ogunquit.
Then due north
Still a lot of snow
Indian Lake
We saw lots of deer-last count was 50.
Slept in Jeep first night at this camp site by a lake in Jackman.
Spotted this hare
Got up close enough to touch

Took me awhile to build up trust though. Here is the hare on the left and me on the right in the woods. I actually fell through the snow and it turned out to be a stream.
Face to face with bugs
Checked out Umbagog and then Androscoggin.
Found nice B&B-much more comfortable than Jeep-but no moose.
Went home via North Conway and through the White Mountains and the Kangamonga. We got plenty of snow, and plenty of deer.

Log/Pic 79 Art Show

So this is me on the front page of the Tabacco Valley Artist Association's web site.
I had a photo display at the Pinney Gallery of 50 plus pics!
Set up was not an easy task.
I had some help from Lisa & Fran (TVAA's President).

North wall

Proud boy
About the artist & artist's statement
For the reception I even had a guest book
The reception was a great success - 72 people and lots of sales!
A couple days later I had a mini reception for my fun cousins from N.H. and a few friends.

Overall the reception and the month-long display were a huge step for Natural Wonders.

Log/Pic 78 Eagles

So I had the opportunity to tag baby eagles. I can not give details as to where, but I can share the experience. A climber scaled a huge tree overlooking a body of water, he reached in the 4-5 foot nest and pulled out a baby.
The climber placed the eagle in this bag and sent it down to us on the ground.
The baby was weighed
Tagged
Age determined
And thoroughly checked by a vet
Blood samples were taken
Talons measured
Check those talons
Hydrated
Had it's photo taken
And said it's goodbyes
This process was repeated for each of the 3 babies!
